I discovered, while searching through other food minded blogs that such a competition as the "IronCupcake:Earth" existed.
Being a fan of the "Iron Chef" and a self-indulging foodie, I search for cooking and backing ideas to expand my repertoire. What way to better do this than with a monthly challenge?!?
This is a Earth wide competition, not just nation or Georgia. So I have the opportunity to learn from professionals and ametures who like experiementing as much as I do. I can't wait to begin with August's Challenge!
I can back on Sunday, pass out the cupcakes at work or around the neighborhood and take a survey of what works and what doesn't. I think I've just found the cure for summer boredom!
CupCakes here I come!
Rules of the Game:
Bakers are either invited or encouraged to join via the IRONCUPCAKE Blogroll.
Once the Ingredient is announced, the baker has 4 weeks to develop and bake their interpretation of the challenge ingredient.
Challenges for ICMilwaukee are totally different that the Earth version. Challenge ingredient will be announced at the beginning of each month.
The baker photographs their baking story and then posts about it on their own blog. In your post, please be sure to include reference and a link to the ETSY artists and Corporate providers donating that months prize as well as No One Puts Cupcake in a Corner, where all voting will take place.
Tag your post with: IRON CUPCAKE, EARTH, CHALLENGE, INGREDIENT NAME, ETSY ARTIST NAME.
When the the blog post is up, the baker uploads their single favorite (two if there is a cross-section photo showing filling) photographic representation of their cupcake to the IRONCUPCAKE FLICKR GROUP and then e-mails notification of their post, with link; a taste-tempting summary of their recipe and their actual recipe to IronCupcakeEarth at wi.rr.com. All recipes will be saved for consideration for the future Iron Cupcake Cookbook, featuring bakers from all over the world, along with their blogs. In your subject line, please include IC:IngredientName. By participating in IRON CUPCAKE:EARTH you agree to have your recipe published in the future – with your name and blog address (optional) attached.
